About the product

What is Pocket Desk, exactly?

A private AI assistant that lives in Telegram. It does three things out of the box: photograph a business card (Snap), voice-note your to-dos (Brain Dump), and answer questions about your day or people (Briefing). It writes to your own Google Calendar, Tasks, and Drive.

Do I need to download an app?

Just Telegram, which is free. No Pocket Desk app. Once you have Telegram and have been set up, your bot is just another chat in your message list.

What is Telegram and why does it have to be Telegram?

Telegram is a free messaging app, like WhatsApp or iMessage. We use it because its bots work beautifully (inline buttons, voice notes, photos, groups) and because it removes the friction of making you install yet another app. If you can text, you can use Telegram.

Will Pocket Desk ever work on SMS or iMessage instead of Telegram?

Possibly. Right now Telegram is the best platform for this kind of product. If SMS becomes viable for the full flow, we'll consider it.

About your data

Who owns my data?

You do. Your contacts, calendar events, tasks, and brain-dump notes all live in YOUR Google account. We keep a mirrored copy for the bot to function (contacts and some conversation state), but everything we write goes into your Google account. We’re just the handler.

Can you read my emails?

No. We don't request Gmail access. The only Google permissions we ask for are Calendar, Tasks, and a Drive folder we create called “Brain Dump.”

Can you access my other Drive files?

No. We use a scope called drive.file which limits our access to files our app creates. We literally can't see anything else in your Drive.

Is it secure?

Yes. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Credentials are encrypted at rest. Our database is row-level-security-protected so one customer can never see another's data. Only Kate has admin access, and she doesn't browse customer data casually.

Do you train AI on my data?

No. Your content is sent to OpenAI for processing (OCR, transcription, question-answering) but OpenAI’s API zero-retention policy applies. They don’t keep it or train on it.

If I cancel, what happens to my data?

Your Google account keeps everything. We delete your customer record, contacts, brain dumps, and conversation state within 30 days. Your calendar events, tasks, and Drive folder stay with you.

About getting set up

How long does setup take?

30 minutes, live with Kate. That's from “hi” to “here's my first card scan.”

Do I need to know anything technical?

No. If you can text and you can click a button in Google, you can use Pocket Desk. Kate walks you through everything.

What if I'm not on Google?

Pocket Desk currently requires a Google account for Calendar, Tasks, and Drive. Microsoft 365 support is on the roadmap but not yet built.

About billing + plan

How much is it?

$49 a month, everything included. Your first month is $99 because that’s when Kate sets you up live. Or pay $490 for the year (saves $98 and skips the onboarding fee). Full details on the pricing page.

What are the usage limits?

Counted per 30-day rolling period: 500 Ask Me questions, 50 card scans, 30 brain dumps, 120 minutes of voice. Hit a limit and the bot tells you kindly. Counter resets on the next cycle. The other things (Today’s Brief, Calendar, Tasks, Quick Notes, contact browsing) don’t count toward anything. If you regularly need more, email Kate.

Can I switch between monthly and annual later?

Yes. Email Kate. Changes prorate.

What if I stop using it?

Cancel any time. Your subscription stops at the end of the current billing period. No guilt.
